Cath Fogarty

Cath Fogarty has been working with clay for over twenty years. She mostly works in porcelain using a combination of hand building and slip casting techniques. Her range of tableware is imbued with a sense of beauty, ceremony and imperfection. The organic forms, patterned with unfolding plant life, are inspired by the art and objects of ancient cultures, especially the remnants of domestic objects that have been worn with use and weathered by time.

She recently established the Chinaclay Gallery in Clovelly and has worked in various arts organisations including Museums & Galleries NSW, Outback Arts and Arts Northern Rivers, the MCA, the University of Sydney art collection, The Teenage Roadshow.
